Statins cut the risk of heart attacks by 30 per cent even in healthy people, researchers say. The cholesterol-busting drugs also reduce the chances of death from all causes by 12 per cent. The findings, from a review of studies involving people without heart disease, will renew the heated debate over whether everyone over the age of 50 should be prescribed the powerful drugs. # Crusador Comment: This story appeared on the UK's Daily Mail website July 1st. Another story from the UK's Times Online also posted on the first has this headline: "Prescribe statins to those at risk at 40, study says". Both stories dismiss the fatal risks that come with statins. This is complete journalistic bias in favor of big pharma. Statin drugs are a disease, they don't cure disease. If they did then why do you need to take one for the rest of your life? Where's the mention of hydrating the body properly? Where's the detailed list of nutrients available that benefit the heart and prevent heart disease? Where's the list of toxic foods to avoid to make sure you don't ever have a problem to begin with? Where's the research on cayenne pepper and how researchers believe it is virtually impossible to have a heart attack if you use it regularly? Heart disease has more to do with nutritional deficiency, not synthetic statin drug deficiency? It is well worth having in your library if you don't believe the statin drug propaganda and would like some facts in front of you to show your doctor, family or friends in case they think you are making a bad decision by avoiding your cholesterol lowering medication.
