| Emotions are running high regarding the Obama Administration's sense of urgency to pass what is being referred to as comprehensive health care reform.
Let's look at the words to understand just what is being proposed here: Comprehensive usually means all-encompassing. The federal government already comprehensively regulates the 16%+ of the GDP (wrongly referred to as health care). Disease management is what the federal government is pining for even more control over than it already actually has. Most people fail to realize that it is precisely the previous decades-long intervention from 10 miles square that is responsible for the medical insurance crisis with which we now suffer. Whole Foods CEO John Mackey simply points out the obvious and the state-loving press piles on to damage one company in America actually providing satisfactory health coverage for its workers. The Big Three are working overtime to enrich each other. Who are they? Big Government, Big Media and Big PHARMA. Neither left nor right, although right now embraced by leftists in their pursuit of totalitarian drug coverage for everyone, whether you want it or not. Is this the reform that is referred to as Clinton, er, Obama, er, Kennedy care? We do not need to re-form that which is abhorrent to the defense of health liberty. Scrap the current system and try freedom. Slavery never works - not even for the slave holders. Does anyone in the District learn from history? Socialism does not work either. If you like monopoly medicine, say so. Just don't pretend that your version of monopoly is better than the one that millions of American have already lived (and died) under for decades. Allopathic medicine is not a system of health care. Calling it universal does not change that fact. Until Democrats and Republicans give up on monopoly, reform is just another word meaning even more of the same.
