Some Say It Can Feed The World, Others Fear It Could Topple Industries! “And God said, Behold, I have given you every HERB BEARING SEED, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat (food).” (Genesis 1:29) The story of hemp being banned for cultivation in the U.S. in 1937 under the Marijuana Tax Act is a story of criminal conspiracy to deprive Americans and most of the world of one of the best plants given to us by the Creator of the Universe to be used for food and thousands of other industrial purposes. What’s sad is that a large majority of people in this country believe that hemp is just another word for marijuana and that somehow you could get high on hemp. A little investigative research into the different species of the Cannabis plant will quickly dispel this myth. The fact that this charade has gone on for over 70 years is very sad. There’s a reason why the Bible says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6) This may sound like an exaggeration to some of you, but the health and well-being of billions of people on this planet is being destroyed by lack of knowledge regarding the hemp plant. At this time people all over the world are going hungry or are suffering with severe nutritional deficiencies. How many have died of starvation or malnutrition since 1937 when hemp was removed from the market? I don’t know what those figures are but I know that they are staggering. Could it be that the world’s complex food problems could be resolved with a simple God-ordained solution in the form of hemp? As strange as that may sound to you right now, you may not think so after you learn more about this amazing plant. The reason why I am so excited about sharing the hemp story with our readers is because I was as in the dark about hemp as just about everyone else until recently. If you asked me what hemp was I would have said “pot.” I had heard some of the stories as a kid about Washington and Jefferson growing hemp and how it is supposed to be the best source of pulp for paper that there is. Unfortunately, I never took the time to research it further. When I discovered that hemp is an edible food and that it beats almost anything else in comparison as far as the full spectrum of nutritional benefits, I couldn’t stop researching it. I started Crusador Enterprises because of the deep passion I have for helping people change their lives through high quality foods and nutrition. The enemy has all sorts of landmines out there to take you down. In the past three years or so I have spent a great deal of time focusing on whole food nutrition. From all the research I’ve done, I have concluded that hemp is the King of whole foods. There are many whole foods with amazing benefits. However, none of them are so well rounded like hemp. What’s the difference between hemp and marijuana? Plenty! Most people aren’t aware that there are distinct differences between various species of the Cannabis plant. Cannabis sativa is the variety known as hemp that is grown for industrial use while Cannabis indica is used to produce marijuana. Simply explained, the biggest difference is that industrial hemp is a male species of Cannabis while marijuana comes from the female version. The female species of Cannabis is the one that produces far fewer seeds and has a much higher concentration of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Anyone who is under the impression that you can get high on hemp or that hemp and marijuana are the same species of Cannabis is simply ignorant of the true facts. Hemp contains a fraction of the psychoactive compound THC that Marijuana does. This is why hemp is now legal as a food in this country and marijuana is not. According to the online encyclopedia, Wikipedia: “While THC is present in all Cannabis plant varieties to some extent, industrial hemp does not contain an amount to produce any intoxicating effect, even in significant quantities. In varieties grown for use as a drug, where males are removed in order to prevent fertilization, THC levels can reach as high as 24% in the unfertilized females which are given ample room to flower. In hemp varieties grown for seed or fibre use, the plants are grown very closely together and a very dense biomass product is obtained, rich in oil from the seeds and fibre from the stalks and low in THC content. EU and Canadian regulations limit THC content to 0.3% in industrial hemp.” A good comparison to hemp is poppy seeds. The street drug heroin and other opiate based drugs are derived from poppy seeds. However, poppy seed bagels are sold in every grocery store, deli and bagel shop in the world. Should we ban all poppy seed bagels because of this? The truth is you would have to consume pounds of poppy seeds to get even the slightest chemical reaction. In all likelihood you would get sick to your stomach first before being able to eat that amount. All hemp products sold as food are under strict government regulation and are tested for THC content before ever making their way into the country or in a product for human consumption. Most hemp food products on the market state on the label that they have been tested and contain 0.00% of THC. Wikipedia goes on further in explaining the differences between hemp and marijuana growing so the average person can distill fact from fiction which should put to rest any controversy. “Marijuana is often female only, and kept completely isolated from any males, to keep the THC production up and seed production low. There are specially developed strains that require a very specific growing operation, and there is much care put into increasing THC production. Hiding marijuana in a hemp field would create a variety of problems. One is, the dense hemp would most likely 'choke out' the marijuana, taking valuable and necessary nutrients and sunlight that the marijuana needs to produce THC. Even more, the male hemp plants would fertilize the marijuana plants, which would have several side effects. First, the marijuana would produce seeds, quickly lowering its value. Energy growing seeds quickly diminishes THC content. More importantly, the fertilization essentially crossbreeds the hemp and marijuana (only in the THC potent females). While the hemp will not produce any more THC, the marijuana, once "tainted" by the Hemp, will produce significantly less THC, depending on how long and how close the contact is with the Hemp.” Absolutely not! As I just stated, you cannot get high from eating hemp because there is virtually no detectable THC in the products available for sale, so eating hemp foods or using hemp oil will not cause a false positive on a urinalysis test. Is it illegal to grow hemp in the USA? Currently in most States the answer is yes! Until just recently it has been illegal to grow hemp in all 50 States. At this time there is no hemp growing in this country for industrial purposes although that is about to change very soon…….hopefully!!! The hemp laws that have been in place since 1937 are now being challenged in at least a dozen States. The State that is the closest to cultivating hemp again is North Dakota. Favorable hemp laws have been passed in North Dakota, Kentucky and Vermont that will make it possible for farmers to grow industrial hemp without requiring permission from the DEA. It is still a major on-going battle though that will require perseverance and further education so people understand that hemp is not marijuana and contains virtually no THC. When North Dakota was close to their first growing season the DEA delayed the applications causing them to miss the season. The big boys always seem to craft clever ways to hinder real advancement when it impacts their bottom line. How are all the hemp products on the market right now in this country if it can’t be grown here? The laws were changed to allow hemp to be imported into America for a variety of purposes, including food, but not cultivated on farms yet because of the mistaken notion that it could encourage marijuana growing that would be masked as hemp. Most of the hemp products on the market come from Canada. Various other European countries such as France are also growing industrial hemp. In some countries growing hemp is now being encouraged by government. As a side note, the whole war on drugs is a massive fraud! We have the most sophisticated spy satellites in the world that can monitor every square inch of the planet 24/7. They can obtain the DNA of an ant 5 feet below the ground and somehow we can’t seem to locate where drugs are being grown or stop the flow of illegal drugs into this country. What a complete scam! Why has there been a war waged against hemp? The main reason hemp was removed from the market in 1937 has to do with one simple word -- GREED. The love of money is the root of all evil as the Bible says. Hemp was a threat to petrochemical companies and paper mills back then and it is a threat to these very same companies today. Take a look at the power structure that controls this country – pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, chemical companies, biotech companies, and a slew of other corporations in league with the devil who want to control industry for the sake of profit, even if it means harming the financial and physical health of the great people of the USA. Hemp threatens corporations like Monsanto, Dow Chemical, DuPont, and other agribusiness giants. Big agribusiness would rather flood the market with their genetically engineered seeds, pesticides, herbicides and fertilizing agents. They make hundreds of billions of dollars a year selling their products that are harming the environment and the health of humanity. They have also been able to gain control of many farms and farmers throughout this country through binding contracts and seed licenses that make them prisoners on their own property. It probably won’t come as a surprise to learn that hemp is a natural weed killer. Big agribusiness makes billions going to war against weeds and pests, so it’s not hard to see why these companies don’t favor hemp. There are many all natural methods given to us by the Most High to control weeds and pests without harming the environment. Hemp is at the top of that list. Because hemp grows very high and has dense foliage it helps kill tough weeds. It also benefits the soil because it controls topsoil erosion and restores beneficial nutrients back to the ground. It requires less water to grow which helps lower farming costs as well. Why do you feel that eating hemp is supported by the Bible? The scripture used in the beginning of this article from Genesis 1:29 is probably the most powerful Bible scripture there is to justify eating the seeds from this wonderful plant. God said that he gave man EVERY herb bearing seed for food. I take the Bible literally. When it says “EVERY” then God means every plant/herb that produces seed is good for food. Man needs to step out of the way and stop letting politics and misinformation distort the truth about hemp. God made Heaven and Earth and all that exists in them. What purpose does hemp serve humanity if God didn’t intend for man to cultivate it and eat it on a wide scale as well as use it for all of its industrial purposes? Just take a look at the awesome nutritional properties of hemp. There’s nothing else like hemp in the entire plant kingdom that even comes close. When it comes to seed production, hemp out- produces all other plants that I am aware of. Put two plus two together – God said to eat the seeds of herb bearing plants for food and hemp produces more seeds than any other plant. It’s that simple to grasp and understand when it’s presented like that. There’s also support for hemp from the Psalms. “He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;” (Psalm 104:14) There’s also a most interesting passage in the King James Bible that I came across while researching hemp that astounded me: “And I will raise up for them A PLANT OF RENOWN, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.” (Ezekiel 34:29) In my personal opinion, in light of what I know about hemp and its remarkable properties, I tend to think that it may very well be what the King James Bible is referring to. Hemp is a plant of renown. There is absolutely no excuse why anyone on the earth should be starving or dying of hunger right now or in the years ahead. It’s all lies and political games. The New World Order crowd of evil doers in control of the planet hates hemp. It is a thorn in their side. Their agenda is depopulation of the planet. Food is their weapon of choice to control people and they have stated this openly in many of their documents. They want to poison the planet with refined, processed foods that are full of pesticides, herbicides, genetically engineered ingredients, and a long list of artificial poisons like aspartame, MSG, Splenda and others so people get sick. That way big pharma can make big bucks and people can die way before the LORD ever intended. How far back does the use of hemp go? As far back as recorded history can show that man has been on the earth. Ancient Chinese records dating back to the 16th century B.C. show hemp as one of the major crops grown. Hemp growing has also been discovered in virtually every other great civilization including India, Sumeria, Babylon, Persia, Egypt, and the Near East. The Aztecs, the Mayans of Central and South America, and the native cultures of North America and Europe all grew hemp. What can hemp be used for? Rope, paper, clothes, textiles, paints, fibers, fuel, weed control, cosmetics, food, etc. The uses for industrialized hemp are endless. Why is hemp considered a superior whole food compared to so many others? For starters, hemp seed foods contain all of the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids the body needs to live and remain healthy. Hemp seeds are one of the richest sources of dietary fiber. The hemp plant requires no pesticides or herbicides to grow, it is not genetically engineered, and it is abundant in a wide variety of vital phytonutrients. Hemp is rich in chlorophyll which builds the body’s blood. Hemp seed’s overall protein content of 34.6% is comparable to soybeans and is higher than that found in nuts, other seeds, meats, dairy products, fish and poultry. Hemp truly is the perfect whole food supplement that was designed to keep man healthy, vibrant and disease free. With regard to fats, hemp’s essential fatty acid (EFA) profile is closer to fish oil than any other vegetable oil. Hemp seed oil is also the source of a rare “super omega-3” called stearidonic acid (SDA) that is the “first metabolite” in the omega-3 family and therefore easy for the body to process. It is also a rare plant source of the “super omega-6” EFA called gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Hemp doesn’t contain gluten or other allergenic compounds that are a problem with so many people today either. Why do you consider hemp protein a superior source of protein? The most popular proteins on the market today are derived from milk and soybeans. A little investigative research into milk production and soy protein derivatives will make anyone who is health conscious stop and ask some serious questions concerning their use. From milk we get whey protein and various forms of casein. From soybeans we get soy protein concentrate and soy protein isolate. These particular proteins are found in thousands of consumable items through the mass retail market and health food industry. Check out the labels of the largest branded products and you’ll likely come across either some form of milk protein or soy protein on the label. It isn’t hard to make a case about why hemp blows these protein sources away. Look at what has happened to dairy production throughout this country. Many cows are fed a diet of grains which in a majority of cases have been genetically engineered. Cows weren’t designed to eat grains in compact feed lots. The best source of food for cows is grass and they were designed to graze in wide open fields for this grass. It’s a proven fact that grain-fed cows aren’t as healthy as grass-fed cows. They become sick much easier and don’t produce as a high quality milk. Many cows are also injected with Monsanto’s genetically engineered bovine growth hormone known as rBST (recombinant bovine somatotropin) or rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone). Estimates are that 30-40% of America’s dairy cows receive this genetically engineered injection. While Monsanto tries to state that this hormone doesn’t affect the milk, why are so many kids reaching puberty at a much younger age? Most of them have been raised on a diet of dairy or soy or a combination of the two. Did you know that the largest percentage of antibiotic drugs manufactured by pharmaceutical companies go to treat farm animals? Whether its cows, chickens, sheep or pigs; antibiotics are given to farm animals quite frequently. The health condition of these animals is horrendous in many cases. All of these drugs have a negative effect on their overall health and the products they produce. I heard the statement years ago and it makes a lot of sense: “Sick animals make sick people.” Then there’s pasteurization process. When milk is pasteurized it kills off the beneficial bacteria and enzymes present in raw milk. Pasteurization takes milk and changes it into something unnatural. After pasteurization the milk is processed further by putting it through an extraction process to obtain various proteins. Then it is spray dried into a powder. This is where whey and casein come from and this is what is used in so many protein powders, diet products and nutritional bars so popular today. That’s not the way God designed our bodies to get protein. They also weren’t designed to process massive quantities of this protein like so many bodybuilders, athletes, and dieters feel they need to maintain or grow muscle or burn body fat. Too much protein in the body can cause mineral depletion and acidity. The battle for health is over pH. You want to stay on the alkaline side. The argument against soy is just as convincing. Approximately 90% of the soy products on the market today have come from genetically engineered soybeans. Monsanto has the soybean business locked up. Even if the soybeans weren’t genetically engineered, the main problem with soy is that the body cannot break it down effectively unless the beans are fermented first. The fermentation process releases the enzymes so your body can utilize the nutrients. Soy should not be eaten unless it is 100% organic and in a fermented form. There are all sorts of health problems associated with soy that raise serious health alarms. Soy protein isolate and concentrate are a highly processed version of soybeans that aren’t natural. In an interview I conducted several years ago with Dr. Kaayla Daniel, author of the book “Soy – The Dark Side Of America’s Favorite Health Food”, she stated the following: “These products can only be made in chemical factories, not kitchens. There’s nothing natural about them. The complicated, high tech procedures leave many toxic and carcinogenic residues such as lysinoalanines and nitrosamines. Vitamin, mineral and protein quality are all sacrificed. Soy protein isolates may even increase the requirements for vitamins E, K, D and B12. Animal studies show that phosphorous is poorly utilized and that deficiencies of calcium, magnesium, molybdenum, copper, iron and especially zinc are common. SPI is also more deficient in the sulfur-containing amino acids than other soy protein products and this dramatically affects skin and hair health. Soy protein also causes a major problem with excessive female hormones.” Then there’s the whole “soy is good for you” health claim that has infected the nutritional supplement industry with lies. In that same interview with Dr. Daniel she commented on this aspect: “As for scientists who are not being funded by the soy industry, they have reported adverse effects from soy foods for many years. We have thousands of epidemiological, laboratory and clinical studies showing adverse effects. Leading scientists from the FDA’s own Laboratory of Toxicological Research spoke out strongly against the heart disease and soy protein health claim approved by the FDA in 1999. The British Committee on Toxicity has expressed serious reservations about health claims made for the plant estrogens in soy protein. The British Dietetic Association has strongly warned parents and pediatricians of the dangers of soy formula. So have many other independent organizations, scientists and other researchers.” When taking these things into consideration, it’s not difficult to see why hemp seed protein is a far superior source of protein. Hemp protein is a source of easily digestible, mineral rich, gluten free protein. It is minimally processed and provides users a wide range of health benefits. Hemp’s overall protein content is 34.6% which is very close to soy. Hemp is a healthy alternative for people who have allergies or are sensitive to dairy, nut, grain and soy-based beverages. Hemp protein is abundant in Omega 3, 6 & 9 oils. Hemp protein can supply any diet with a vegetarian source of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber, chlorophyll and a complete, balanced gluten-free source of essential amino acids. An important aspect of hemp protein is that it is a quality source of the amino acids arginine and histidine, and the sulphur-containing amino acids methionine and cystein, both of which are needed in the production of vital enzymes in the body. The nutritional information booklet published by Manitoba Harvest, one of the world’s leading hemp food suppliers has some excellent information on hemp protein. “Hemp protein also contains relatively high levels of the branch-chain amino acids that are crucial in the repair and growth of lean body mass, making a hemp protein shake after a workout a worthwhile investment. Almost two-thirds of hemp protein is made up of edestin, a globulin protein found only in hemp seeds. This makes hemp the superior source for this protein in the plant kingdom. Edestin is a type of plant protein that is similar to protein found in the human body, and thus is perfectly suited to aid in meeting the body’s cellular needs such as DNA repair. Since much of hemp’s protein resembles that found in human blood, hemp protein is very easily digested and assimilated. In addition, one-third of hemp’s protein is albumin, another high quality globulin protein found in egg whites.” Why are so many people cautious or even afraid of hemp? In my opinion it has more to do with the mistaken belief that hemp and marijuana are the same. Nothing could be further from the truth. Education is the key to overcoming the stigma associated with hemp. Getting people to understand the awesome nutritional value of this wonderful plant and backing up its use from a biblical perspective will go a long way in overcoming the faulty mindset many people have about hemp. I don’t think that the hemp movement benefits when a bunch of hippies are its biggest supporters. The whole “legalization of marijuana movement” only adds more confusion to the mix. Many Christians associate hemp with drugs or feel that by somehow legalizing the growing of hemp in all 50 States it would indirectly legalize marijuana or promote its use more. People need to understand that this plant was grown in this country from its inception until 1937 when a group of sinister corporate thugs used their wealth and influence to pass laws making hemp growing illegal. I truly believe with all of my heart that the hemp plant is a blessing from the Most High to keep people alive and healthy in what the Bible refers to as the latter days. Genesis 1:29 says that God gave us EVERY HERB BEARING SEED for food. There is no other herb bearing seed in the world that is like hemp. No other plant produces the massive amount of seeds that hemp does. Someone would have to be spiritually blind not to see that this plant has every ounce of God’s blessings upon it for food consumption. Would God rather have us butcher and kill millions of animals every year for our food or would he rather have us eat an abundance of seeds from the biggest seed bearing plant that He created that can supply all of the nutrition the body needs? Hopefully this article will help bridge the gap for the Christian community to get them to see hemp for what it truly is. What varieties of hemp foods are available for consumers? There is hemp seed oil, hemp protein, hemp milk, hemp seed butter (similar to peanut butter), hemp seed flour, shelled hemp seeds, hemp tea, and hemp coffee. Hemp seed flour is being used in a variety of foods from breads, cereal, pancakes, waffles, and a number of other products that call for flour. Hundreds of other health food products are beginning to make their way to market with hemp as an ingredient. Hemp is the most exciting health food I’ve come across in my life. The similarities between Prohibition and hemp being made illegal in 1937 under the Marijuana Tax Act are quite interesting, except getting hemp back on the market has taken over 70 years. Most health food stores have begun carrying a variety of hemp foods.
