“Is there anything to be done for hot flashes?”

The question came a few years ago from a woman who had been referred to me and been previously taught to successfully eliminate blood sugar problems and longstanding arthritis pain.  [This referral was in fact a referral of a referral of a referral of a referral!]

“Sure, Dr. Christopher’s Hormonal Changease herbal formula usually clears that right up,” I told her.

“I knew I should have called you first,” she said with almost a groan in her voice.

This woman had never mentioned any female health issues through several months of working with her so I asked, “Why?  What’s up?”

“I just spent a bunch of money on a doctor’s visit and to fill a hormone replacement prescription,” she said.

It turns out that this woman had previously been on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for many years for menopause symptoms of which hot flashes were only one of many symptoms with which she suffered.  Her doctor had taken her off the HRT several months earlier after the Women’s Health Initiative findings of 2002 disclosed a dramatic increase of heart disease and breast cancer in women on HRT.

The hot flashes of this woman had become much worse and more frequent without the HRT.  Other symptoms were also intensifying.

“Send me a bottle of that Hormonal Changease,” the woman requested.

“But you already bought that prescription,” I responded.

“I know.  Send that herbal formula anyway,” she answered.  “I’m not sure what I’m going to do at this point but I’ve got to do something.  I just hate to take these drugs again after all the bad news about them recently.”

It wasn’t very long before the same woman called again.

“Send me another of those Hormonal Changease,” she exclaimed.
 
The woman had decided to use the herbs first instead of the drugs and was so excited.

The hot flashes had ceased along with her mood swings and other physical symptoms of menopause.  She noted that all the years on the HRT had never eliminated any of these problems but only reduced them and made life more tolerable.

Dr. Christopher’s Hormonal Changease had eliminated all the problems that drugs previously only reduced.

She did say she had one concern.

“I’m worried my doctor will fire me when he finds out,” she said.

I told her there was a way to avoid that.

“Fire him first,” I told her with a laugh.

The woman reported back to her doctor about her new-found freedom from any menopausal symptoms that had plagued her for so many years.  His response was that apparently the break from the HRT drugs had caused them to work better than ever after the return to using them.

“I didn’t use the hormones,” the woman told her doctor, “but took these instead,” handing an empty bottle of Dr. Christopher’s Hormonal Changease to him.

“Oh, yes, black cohosh,” the doctor noted after only a cursory examination before quickly returning it to the woman.

This woman was upset as she shared her experience with me.

“He seemed to know about this so how come he never told me about it,” she questioned of me.

“Medical doctors are trained in drug usage,” I responded.

“But since he took me off hormones because of the danger then why didn’t he tell me about this?”

I understood her upset.

Actually, black cohosh all by itself can occasionally present some issues.  The Dr. Christopher’s Hormonal Changease actually weaves together a body of herbs to complement one another and avoid issues that can occasionally arise from relying only on a single herb.  Personally, I have never recommended isolated, single use of black cohosh.

The woman noted here sent me an e-mail a short while later with a very frilly, pink background that had little birds flying about with the following message noted happily:

“I had to put a sweater on today.  I haven’t worn a sweater for years!  I’m so thankful for that Hormonal Changease.”

It was very funny because we were in the midst of a period of snow and ice with temperatures nearing zero.  Most people were complaining about the cold but this woman wax excited at needing to put on a sweater after so many years of such a serious problem with hot flashes that even in the cold area way out in the country in which she lived she had not worn a coat or sweater!

Another woman I’ve worked with for many years says that before discovering Dr. Christopher’s Hormonal Changease she had been “a tiger lady” – a point readily attested to by both her husband and the owner of the store that she manages.  This woman has spread the good news to countless other women in her sphere of influence about Dr. Christopher’s Hormonal Changease.

As I was pondering this writing there appeared new news about HRT again more than 5 years after the bad news about increased heart disease and breast cancer associated with its use.

Breast cancer risk is noted to double with 5 years use of HRT according to a large federal study reported as “the most dramatic evidence yet of the dangers of these still-popular pills.”

This news is riveting in many ways.  First that the serious problems already noted more than 5 years ago are even more serious than had already been reported.  Second that HRT is referred to as “these still-popular pills”.  Still popular after such serious, medically admitted problems?

The new information even notes that only a couple years use increases cancer risk.

If women knew what Premarin really is and how it is obtained I wonder if this now doubly verfied dangerous HRT treatment would ever have become so popular.

The source for PREMARIN is PREgnant MARe uRINe.  The name of this drug barely hides where it comes from.  If you do some research into how they “harvest” the urine from these pregnant mares you likely would consider it to be inhumane treatment of these poor creatures.

It is such a shame and so unnecessary as l-o-o-o-o-n-g before the first HRT drugs even came into common usage Dr. Christopher had developed his Hormonal Changease formula and countless women had already attested to its benefit.

My personal observations have been that Dr. Christopher’s Hormonal Changease has often been a great help for female hormonal issues whether premenstrual or menstrual, pregnancy, or menopausal matters.  I’ve recently been told it is also helpful for male hormonal troubles though that is an area of which I lack direct knowledge.

Dr. Christopher was one of my earliest teachers (one of my sons is named in his honor).  One thing I have found with good consistency through four decades experience with Dr. Christopher formulas is that his formulas do what they say they will do when used the way he said to use them.
